We provide multidisciplinary assessments by all members of the team or individual dependently on the request of the insurer. We also conduct Functional Ability Evaluations (FAE) at each location for easy access and convenience. Our clinicians are experienced and readily available to conduct full assessments or paper reviews. Please contact our assessment team at our Woodbridge location, to coordinate any clinic specialty assessments.
In-Home Assessment
An in-home assessment is recommended to evaluate the claimant's ability to independently perform their activities of daily living. The Occupational Therapist/Chiropractor may suggest interventions which include working with the individual to adapt their daily routines so that they are easier for the individual to perform; and/or suggesting changes in an individual's environment in order to allow him/her to be more independent in their activities of daily living. Where necessary, the report may also include recommendations for assistive devices to help the claimant with their personal activities of daily living. Education and training may also be provided to encourage the claimant's independence.
Functional Abilities Evaluation
The Functional Abilities Evaluation (FAE) measures the claimant's present physical abilities as they compare to his/her essential pre-injury tasks of daily living and/or job demands. The FAE is structured as a series of tests with built-in cross-checks to provide reliable and valid results. As a Certified ARCON Testing Center, we are equipped to accurately test lifting capabilities, grip, strength and spine and extremity range of motion using state of the art evaluation hardware and software offered by the ARCON System. Alternatively, Hanoun Functional Abilities Evaluation Protocols are utilized in the assessment process.
Work-Site Assessment
The Work-site Assessment provides the client with accurate information related to the claimant's pre-accident work demands. The report includes digital images of workstations and an analysis of the physical demands of the job. Where applicable, the report also includes recommendations to facilitate a return to work. This assessment can assist in the development of a rehabilitation program that corresponds to the physical demands of the job.
Attendant Care (Form 1)
Attendant Care (Form 1) evaluates whether the claimant demonstrates sufficient physical or cognitive impairments to perform their personal care activities. Where necessary, the report may also include recommendations for assistive devices to help the claimant with their personal activities of daily living. Education and training may also be provided to encourage the claimant's independence.
Work Hardening Program
The program involves preparing the claimant both physically and mentally for return to work. The goal is to maximize the work tolerance and self confidence of the claimant's physical abilities by providing pain-coping strategies and active progressive physical conditioning.
